It was a goal to come up with at least one idea for a composition during a two month period that we lived in Krugerville, TX in a ratty rent house while we waited for our home in Denton to be ready.

This piece started off as many of my pieces: a (very) crude improvisation at the keyboard which contains lots of compositional ideas which can be incorporated into a full piece.

This piece reminds me of a fanfare, so that is its name for now.
